Child's First Book
  1. Make sure to add three new sentences to your Child's First Book.
  2. For the word Santa: I wrote: Santa Claus/Santa Claus is coming/Santa Claus is coming to town.
  3. For the word Snow: It is/It is going to/It is going to snow outside today.
  4. For the word Wet: My clothes/My clothes are all/My clothes are all wet because I was playing in the snow.
When your child is reading their book to you or anyone else, make sure not to just tell your child the words.  Have them spell it out, to see if they can get the word and/or see if they can pronounce it out.
Index Card Project:
  1. Write the words Santa, Snow, Wet on index cards.
  2. On the other side glue a picture of that word or have them draw a picture.
  3. You should have a nice pile of words now.
  4. Have your child make a sentence with the words.
 Key-chain Index Cards:
  • Don't forget to add these 3 new words to your key-chain cards.
  • Are you remembering to use these while shopping.
Go Fish Game:
  • Remember to add their words to their Go Fish Game.
Little Foam Books:
  • After adding the words to your new little foam books, your child will have 12 books to practice in now.
  • Do your kids need new books for their older words?
  • Are your kids still practicing all their words?
Christmas Fill-In-The-Blanks:
  • Think of all sorts of Christmas words like: Reindeer, Toys, Presents, Lights, Wreath, Mistletoe, Red and Green, Ornaments, Snow, Stockings, Sleigh, Bells, Rudolf, etc.
  • Then put the words into a sentence but leave it blank and see if your child can fill in the right words.  For example:  ________ has a very shiny red nose.  or Santa put lots of __________ under the tree.
Popsicle Christmas Word Puzzle:
  • Think of christmas words again.  Place a letter of each word on a popsicle stick.
  • Then give a list if you want to your child and have them go through the popsicle sticks and find words.
  • If you want your child can paint the sticks ahead of time and decorate them too.
Popsicle Christmas Picture Puzzles:
  • Tape how many popsicles you want together.
  • Then have your child draw one big picture across all the popsicles.
  • Take the tape off the back of the popsicles sticks and mix all the sticks up and then have your child try to put them back together.
Make Your Own Christmas Word Search:
  • Think of lots of Christmas words and then click Here to make your word search and then print out.
Make A Vocabulary Book From Your Child's Books:
  • Make yourself a book like you do with your Child's First Book.
  • Then write one of their words on top of each page.
  • Then below each word write a simple definition of each word.
  • If you would like you can even put a picture below the word and then the definition.
