Here Comes Santa Claus: Part B





Crafts:



Stocking Hat
  • Stocking Hat: Empty TP or paper-towel Roll, Yarn, Scissors
  1. Cut a 1/2 inch piece off the tp roll.  
  2. Cut a lot of 6 inch pieces of yarn.  
  3. Tie each piece of yarn around the tp roll at the bottom.  Tuck the knot a little on the inside, at bottom.
  4. When you have tie yarn all the way around and covered the tp roll. Then take the yarn in a bunch and tuck it all the way through the hole.  
  5. When you have it all pulled through then, make sure you like it where you want the length and take another piece of yarn toward the top of where you want it and tie it off.  Then trim off the excess.   
  • Reindeer Pin: Big Brown Pom Pom, Little Red Pom Pom, 2 Brown Pipe Cleaners, Pin, Glue, Googlie Eyes
  1. Glue the little red pom pom onto the big brown pom pom. Let Dry.
  2. Glue on eyes. 
  3. Cut Pipe Cleaner into 1- 4", 2-2" and 2-1 1/2" pieces.  
  4. Make a semi-U shape with the 4" piece.  Take the two 2" pieces and wrap around toward the bottom of the u to form some antlers. Then take the other two pieces and twist them toward the top of the u.  
  5. Glue the antlers onto the back of the pom pom.  Let dry.
  6. Then glue the pin onto the back of that.
  • Stocking: Plain Stocking, Puff Paint, Glitter Glue, Glue, Jewels, Ribbon
  1. Take a plain stocking and write your child's name on it with puff paint.  Let Dry.
  2. Then let your child decorate their stocking.
  • Family Tree Skirt: Plain White Tree Skirt, Paint, Puff Paint, Paper Plate
  1. Lay a plain white tree skirt down on some newspaper.
  2. Put some paint on a paper plate.
  3. Have everyone in the family place their hands in the paint(can use different colors), and place their hands onto the tree skirt.  
  4. Next, If you want you can write their names and the year, underneath their hands
  5. You can use this tree skirt every year and let your children place their hands on it every year so you can watch their hands grow.

Glue Ornament
  • Glue Ornament: Pringle Lid, Glue, Glitter, Sequins, Jewels, Yarn, Pipe Cleaner or Yarn
  1. Lay the lid onto some newspaper. Sprinkle some glitter and jewels onto the bottom of lid.
  2. Next, fill the lid with glue.  Then make sure to decorate top.
  3. Place a looped pipe cleaner or yarn at the top for hanging.
  4. Let it dry for over 24 hours.
  • Make Your Own Ornament: Plain, Clear Ornaments(plastic is good), Buttons or Beads or Feathers, Golf Tees(stuff that can fit inside the ornament)
  1. Take the top off the ornament and fill it with your goodies.
  2. Place the top back on.
  • Swirling Ornament: Plain Clear Ornament, Paint
  1. Take the lid off the ornament and place some paint inside.
  2. Swirl the paint around inside, can use different colors inside, and swirl until your like it.  
  3. Let it dry.  You will have to make sure you swirl while drying because it may run to the bottom.
  • Christmas Stories: Christmas pictures from a magazine or Christmas Card or Draw your own, Plain Paper, Hole Puncher, Yarn, Glue
  1. Glue the pictures onto the different pieces of paper. 
  2. Make yourself a book. Punch holes in the paper if you need too.  Then fasten the papers together with yarn.
  3.  Then you and your child can makeup a story to go along with the pictures
  4. If you wanted to you can use foam craft for the top and bottom covers.
  • Paper Strip Angel: Construction Paper, Glue, Paper
  1. Cut out a strip of construction paper.  Pinch the strip in three places to form a triangle.  Glue the triangle in an upright position on a piece of paper.
  2. Then cut out a smaller strip.  Glue the ends together to form a ring.
  3. Glue the ring to the point of the triangle for a head.
  4. Glue two smaller triangles to the sides of the big triangle for wings.
  • Paper Plate Angel: Paper plate, Crayons, 2 Pipe Cleaner, Yarn
  1. Draw a cute face on a paper plate.
  2. Paste on some yarn for the hair.
  3. Form a piece of pipe cleaner into a halo and with another pipe cleaner tie a handle to the halo.
  4. Glue the handle end of the halo to the angel's head.  
  5. Prop the head up for display.
  • Frosted Picture: Colored Picture from an old magazine or a greeting card, Cardboard, Glue, Epsom Salt, Paint Brush
  1. Mix a solution of Epsom salts and warm water. Stir constantly while adding the salts to the warm water.  Continue until no more salt crystals will dissolve.
  2. Paint a greeting card with this solution. 
  3. When it dries, you will see sparkling crystals on the card, creating a frosted effect.
  4. You can glue your card onto a piece of cardboard if you want.
  • Santa Card: Construction Paper, Red and Blue Crayons, Scissors, Glue, Pen
  1. Fold a piece of colored paper to make a card.
  2. On the front color in blue eyes and a red nose for Santa's face.
  3. Glue curled strips of white paper along the bottom front edge for Santa's beard.
  4. Write a message inside.
  • Pinecone Decorations: Pinecones, Paint(Red, Green, Gold or White), Ziploc Plastic Bags, Glitter
  1. Place paint into a plastic bag.  
  2. Then drop a pinecone in the bag, seal the bag and have your child shake the bag.
  3. Then take the pinecone out and place into another bag and place glitter in the bag, seal the bag and have your child shake again.
  • Coffee Lid Ornament: Coffee Lid, Macaroni, Glue, Paint(Christmas Colors), Yarn
  1. Glue different kinds of macaroni to both sides of a plastic lid from a coffee can.
  2. Paint the ornament with Christmas colors.
  3. Glue a piece of yarn or string to the ornament and hang it from a tree.
  • Eggcup Bell Ornaments: Cardboard Egg Carton, Paint, Yarn, Glitter
  1. Cut out single eggcups from a cardboard egg carton.
  2. Poke a hole into the bottom of each cup. Paint the cups Christmas colors.
  3. Thread yarn through the holes to hang the ornaments.
  • Starched String Ornaments: Heavy String, Liquid Starch, Waxed Paper, Paint
  1. Dip a length of heavy string into some liquid starch and then remove it.
  2. Lay the string on a piece of waxed paper in any flat shape you want.
  3. When dried and painted, the shape will be stiff and can be hung by string from a tree.
  • Starched String Ornament Ball: Ballon, Two-foot length of String, Liquid Starch, Wax Paper, Christmas Paint
  1. Inflate a ballon until it is about three or four inches across.  Tie off the balloon to keep the air inside.
  2. Next, dip a two-foot length of string into a bowl of liquid starch.  Wet the string completely and start wrapping it around the balloon in an interesting pattern.  Set the balloon aside to dry overnight.
  3. The next day the string will be stiff.  Pop the balloon and remove it from the stiff string ball.
  4. Now you can paint the ornament red, green, or white, and hang for display.
  • Hand-Print Wreath: Green and Red Construction Paper, Piece of Cardboard,Yarn, Glue
  1. Trace your child's hand on red and green paper, from the wrist to hand.
  2. Cut out a circle out of the piece of cardboard for the wreath.
  3. Bend the paper hands at the wrist and place glue on the bend part and glue the hands all around the cardboard.  
  4. Hang with yarn.
  • Candy Cane Heart Ornament: Red and White Pipe Cleaners
  1. Place red and white pipe-cleaners next to each other and then begin twisting them together.  
  2. When they are all twisted, then bend the top, to form a candy-cane.
  • Spiral Christmas Tree: Pompoms(3/4" Yellow and Twelve 5 mm Red), Pipe Cleaners (Green 15 mm and Brown 6 mm) Red Embroidery Floss
  1. Swirl the green pipe cleaner into a tree. Smaller on top bigger toward the bottom.
  2. Then swirl the smaller pipe cleaner  to make the trunk.  This part will fit into the tree.
  3. Twist the top a little to hold it together.  
  4. Glue the yellow pom pom on top of the tree for the star.
  5. Glue the red pom poms on for the decorations.
  6. Thread red floss on top for hanging.
  • Button Wreath: Buttons(Green, Red and White), Green Pipe Cleaners, Red Ribbon
  1. Place the buttons onto the green pipe cleaner.
  2. Make a bow out of the red ribbon and glue onto wreath.
  3. Hang on tree.
  • Christmas Card: Card Stock, Felt, Pom Poms
  1. Cut out a triangle piece for the hat.  Then, cut out  a small rectangle for the trim of the hat.
  2. Glue the hat onto the card stock.
  3. Then glue the pom pom onto the top of the hat.
  • CD Ornament: CD, Paint, Glue, Glitter, Jewels, Yarn
  1. Paint the side with writing onto it to cover it up.  Let dry.
  2. Then have your child decorate both sides.  
  3. The shiny part with reflect the lights on the tree.
  4. Place a piece of yarn through the opening of the cd to hang it.
  • Pom Pom Gift Tags: Pom Poms(Christmas Colors), Foam(Christmas Colors), Glue
  1. Cut out a strip of felt for the gift tag
  2. On the tag, have your child glue the pom poms onto the card.  For example, you can put DAD or HOHOHO or LOVE.  
  3. If you punch a hole at the top and place yarn through the hole, the person getting the tag can hang it up.
    • Pasta Wreath: Bow-Tie Pasta, Green and Red Paint, Small Red Pom Poms, Wax Paper
    1. Paint 6 pasta bows green and one red.  Let dry on wax paper.
    2. Then glue the green pastas together in a ring.  Let dry.
    3. Glue a red pasta on wreath for the bow.
    4. Then glue pom poms on for the berries.
    • Pasta Tree: Wheel Pasta, Green Paint, Red Hots or Small Red Pom Poms, Wax Paper
    1. Paint 11 wheel pastas green.  Paint all over.  Let it dry on wax paper.
    2. Glue 4 wheels together for the bottom of the tree.
    3. Then glue 3 on top of the 4, then two on top of the three, then one on top.  Glue one on the bottom in between the second and third wheels.
    4. Then glue red berries on top in the little circle in the middle of the circles.  Do not glue one on the bottom wheel.  Let dry.
    5. Thread a piece of yarn through the top pasta to hang.
    • Jingle Bell Bracelet: Sock with stretchy cuff, green pipe cleaner, 2 jingle bells, 2 red beads
    1. Cut the top part off the sock the stretchy part.  
    2. Then cut some slits in the cuff for the pipe cleaner to go through.
    3. Thread the pipe cleaner through the slits and attach the bells and beads through the showing top part of cuff. 
    • Spaghetti Wreath: Cardboard, uncooked spaghetti, Green and Red Paint, Glue, Bow Tie Pasta, Yarn
    1. Cut out a circle out of the cardboard.  Cut out another circle out of that circle to form the wreath.
    2. Place glue all around the circle.
    3. Let your child break pieces of spaghetti and place them all over the wreath.  Make layers of the spaghetti. Let dry.
    4. Then have your child paint the spaghetti green.  Let dry.
    5. Paint a piece of bow-tie pasta red for the bow.  Glue onto the bottom of the wreath and Let dry.
    6. Glue a piece of yarn in a loop on the back for hanging.
    • Circle Garland: Construction Paper, Christmas Pictures, Glue, Hole Puncher, Yarn
    1. Cut out circle out of construction paper. (use a glass or lid for a perfect circle).
    2. Then glue Christmas pictures onto the circles.  Let dry.
    3. Punch a hole on both sides of the circle.  Then thread yarn behind the pictures to attach them together.
    • Spool List Ornament: Wooden Spool, Red Paint, White Card Stock, Double Sided Tape, Green Ribbon, Black Marker
    1. Paint the spool red and let dry.
    2. Cut out a strip out of the white paper about 6 inches long and as wide as the inside of the spool.
    3. Write a wish list on the paper.
    4. Place double tape onto the spool.  Then place the list around the tape.  Some of the white paper should be hanging down.  
    5. Place yarn through the spool for hanging.
    • Reindeer Face: Construction Paper(Brown, Red, Peach, White, Green), Cotton Balls
    1. Trace your child's foot with their shoe on for the face.  
    2. Then trace both of their hands on peach paper for the ears. Glue ears on back of head.
    3. Then cut out a red circle for the nose and glue it on.
    4. Cut out white circles for the eyes and little green circles to go onto the white circles and glue on.
    5. Cut out a bow out of the green paper and glue on reindeer.
    6. Glue cotton ball on back for the tail.
    Activities: 
    • Ornament Fishing Game: Craft Foam, Paint Pens, 12 Plastic Ball Ornaments, Glue, Wiggle Eyes, Dowel, Yarn, Ornament Hanger, Plastic Bucket, Paint 
    1. Cut out fins for the fish ornaments and glue onto balls.  Let dry.
    2. Glue on wiggle eyes.  Let dry.
    3. Use paint pens to decorate their fish.
    4. Tie a piece of yarn around a dowel.  Can use glue to secure it.  
    5. Tie an ornament hanger on the other end for the hook.
    6. Place the ornaments into a bucket. 
    7.  Have your child try to hook their fish ornaments.
    • Tiddle a Wink: Poster Board(Different Colors), Double-Sided Tape, White Paper, Marker, Piece Of Felt, One large Button and ten small Buttons
    1. To make the target, use 2-inch-wide poster board rings 28, 21, 17 and 8 inches long, secured at the seams with double-sided tape.  
    2. Attach point values onto the rings.  Secure with tape.
    3. Cut out a felt launchpad.
    4. Players take turns using a large button to flip 10 small buttons toward the target.
    5. The player with the highest total score wins.
    • Wooden Spoon Guess Who: Two Wooden Spoons, Blindfold
    1. Blindfold a person in the room and give them two wooden spoons.
    2. They must then find some in the room and see if they can tell who they are by just using the spoons.
    • Kazoo Game: Kazoo for each person, Paper, Pen, List of Songs about 50-100, Container
    1. Take your list of songs and write each song onto a piece of paper. Place the paper into a container.
    2. Separate into 2 or 3 teams.  Each person gets a kazoo.
    3. Roll a die or draw the lowest or higher card to see who goes first.
    4. A person on the team must take a piece of paper out of the container and must try to get their team to guess what song you drew by humming on the kazoo.  They have only one minute to guess.  If the team doesn't get it, then the person humming must hum for the next team to see if they can get it.  They also get a minute.  Each one correct gets a point.  The team with the most points wins.
    5. If you have younger kids, make sure to have younger songs in there too.
    6. If the person who drew the song doesn't know the song they can pass it off to another team mate, but then they cannot help their team out because they already it.  
    • Gift Wrap Relay: 2 Empty Boxes(same size), Wrapping paper, Scissors, Tape
    1. Have 2 teams.  Each team gets a box, paper, scissors and tape
    2. Then each team must then see who can wrap the gift the fastest and nicest.
    • Unwrap The Gift Game: 2 Gift Items, Wrapping Paper, Tape, Music, Oven Gloves, Dice

    Food: 
    • Popcorn Ball Ornament: Small Popcorn Ball, Mini Candy-cane, Colored Sugar, Paper Plate, Plastic Bag, Frosting, Mini M & M's
    1. Place a candy cane into the popcorn ball.  This becomes the hook for the ornament.
    2. Then place frosting onto the ball to add the sugar, and M &M's 
    3. Store in bag if you want to save it.
    • Nutter Butter Reindeer: Nutter Butters, White Icing, Chocolate Chips, M&M's, Twisted Pretzels
    1. Start with a nutter butter for the face.
    2. Then use icing to attach the chocolate chip eyes, an M&M nose, and twisted pretzel antlers.
    • Apple Ornaments: Apples, Frosting or Peanut Butter, Nuts, M&M's, Chocolate Chips, Raisins
    1. Place frosting or peanut butter all over an apple.  
    2. Then have your child add the nuts, and such to decorate it.
    • Anything Christmas Colors: Licorice, Fruits, Vegetables, Candies, Crackers or Cookies
    • Spaghetti With Green Olives 


    • Reindeer Suckers: Suckers, Brown Pipe Cleaners, Red Pom Poms, Gogglie Eyes, Red Ribbon
    1. Unwrap the lollipop and cover it again with plastic wrap. Secure it at the base with clear tape. Bend the pipe cleaner in half around the base of the pop and shape the ends into antlers.
    2.  Thread the bell onto a 10-inch length of red ribbon and tie it around the reindeer's neck. Stick on the googly eyes and attach the pom-pom nose with double-sided tape.
