There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Bell!



Bell Crafts:


Foam Bell:

  • Supplies Needed: Foam, Jewels, Glitter, Pom Pom, Marker
  1. Cut out a bell shape out of the foam.
  2. Take a marker and make a circle around the bottom.
  3. Glue a pom pom to make it look like the bell.
  4. Have your child decorate the bell.
  5. Could also put a magnet on the back, or put a ribbon on top to hang a tree.
Bell Wind Chimes:
  • Supplies Needed: Unsharpened Pencil, 10 Bells, Yarn
  1. Cut 12 pieces of yarn.
  2. On 10 pieces of yarn tie a bell at the end of the string.
  3. Tie a plain piece of string on each end of the pencil for hanging.  Tie them together at top.
  4. Then in-between the end strings tie the yarns with bells on them onto the pencil.
Paper Cup Bell:
  • Supplies Needed:  Styrofoam Cup, Pipe Cleaner, Glitter, Jewels, Ribbons, Green Ribbon
  1. Take a fold a pipe-cleaner in half to form the handle of the bell. 
  2. Then poke the bottom half of the pipe cleaner through the top of the cup.  
  3. Then pull the pipe cleaner down and attach a bell to one side and twist the ends together.
  4. Pull the handle back up and twist the top to hold in place.
  5. Have your child decorate their bell.
  6. Tie a ribbon on top for the bow.
Angel Bell:
  • Supplies Needed: Metal Jingle Bell, Ribbon, Wooden Ball, White Wired Ribbon, Small White Ribbon, Marker, Gold Pipe Cleaner
  1. Take a ribbon and place it through the bell for hanging.
  2. Glue the Wooden Ball onto the bell for the head of the angel.
  3. Make a bow from the wired ribbon for the angel and glue on back.
  4. Make a halo out of the pipe cleaner and put on angel.
  5. If the ball has a hole in the middle put the pipe cleaner through the hole and attach it to the bell.  This holds the head on and makes the halo.
  6. Make a little bow to place on top of the angel.
  7. Make a face on the angel.
Jingle Bell Snowman:
  • Supplies Needed:  Metal Jingle Bell, Green Pom Poms, Red Pipe Cleaner, Green and Red Ribbon, Orange Foam Craft, Black Marker
  1. Need a pipe cleaner  and the pom pom for the ear muffs.
  2. Glue the pipe cleaner over the bell, which is downwards, make sure there is enough for hanging too.  
  3. Then glue the pom poms on each side over the pipe cleaner.
  4. Take a Green ribbon and loop it through the pipe cleaner for hanging.
  5. Make a bow out of the red ribbon and glue to the top of the green ribbon.
  6. Make a carrot nose out of the foam and glue it onto bell.  Also draw a face.
Bell Necklace:
  • Supplies Needed: Small metal bells, Red, Green, and White Beads, One Big Bell, Red Cord.
  1. Make a necklace out of the cord.  Make sure its long enough to fit over head of your child.
  2. Take the big bell and string it onto the cord.  
  3. On each side of the bell string on beads and every once in a while a small bell.
  4. Tie together.

  • Supplies Needed: Pipe Cleaner, Beads, and Bells

Egg Carton Bell:
  • Supplies Needed: Egg Carton, Yarn or String, Scissors, Small Bells, Glitter, Glue, Paint

Bow Crafts:

Bow Barrette:
  • Supplies Needed: Plain Metal Barrettes(craft stores or store), Bows, Hot Glue Gun
  1. Glue bows on top of the Barrettes.  
  2. Can use either cloth or plastic bows.
Bow Wreath:
  • Supplies Needed: Cardboard, Bows, Glue, Ribbon
  1. Cut a circle out of the cardboard.
  2. Glue Bows around the cardboard.
  3. Make a Big Bow out of the ribbon and glue it to the wreath.
Gift Crafts:

Present Photo Frame Ornament:
  • Supplies Needed: Red and Green Foam, Yarn, Red or Green Ribbons, Glue, Glitter, Hole Puncher
  1. Cut out a Red Square and then cut out a circle out of the square for the picture placing.
  2. Cut out a Green Square out of the foam.  Glue the red square on top of the green.
  3. Punch hole in top of square.  
  4. Place a piece of yarn through hole for hanging.
  5. Glue a bow on top of present.  
Handprint Photo Frame:
  • Supplies Needed; Red, Green, Blue, White Foam Craft, Ribbon, Photo Of Child, Glue
  1. Trace your child's hand on the green foam craft, Cut out.
  2. Cut out 3 little squares for presents.  
  3. Glue a picture of your child on one of the squares.  
  4. On the other squares Cut a piece of ribbon as tall as the squares and glue down the middle.
  5. Glue a little ribbon on top of the presents.
  6. Glue the squares onto the hand with your child's picture in the middle.
  7. Cut out a rectangle and glue it just below your child's picture and write your child's name and year.  
  8. Cut a piece of ribbon for hanging and glue it too the back of the hand.
Miniature Presents:
  • Supplies Needed: Wooden Cubes, Paint, Ribbon, Glue

Felt Presents:
  • Supplies Needed: Red, White and Green Felt, White Yarn, Glue and Scissors

Sack Crafts:

Santa's Sack:
  • Supplies Needed: Cardboard or Card Stock, Pictures of Toys from magazines or Store Ads, Glue, Red Yarn,  Red Felt
  1. Have your child cut out pictures of toys.
  2. Cut out a sack out of cardboard. Trace the sack cardboard onto the red felt.
  3. Glue the toys onto the  cardboard, covering it.
  4. Cut little slits through the top of the sack and weave a piece of yarn through the slots.  Leave some yarn hanging.
  5. Glue the piece of felt at the top of the sack.  Should cover the toys up.
  6. Could make a book this way too.
Felt Santa's Sack:
  • Supplies Needed: Different Color Pieces of Felt, Glue, Piece of Card Stock, Yarn
  1. Cut of a sack out of the card stock.
  2. Glue little squares or other shapes out of felt onto the card stock.
  3. Glue a piece of yarn on the top of the sack for the draw string.
  4. Can glue pieces of felt over the string to cover some of it too.
Felt Sewing Santa Sack:
  • Supplies Needed: Pieces Of Felt, Hole Puncher, Plastic Needle, Red Yarn
  1. Line up 2 pieces of felt and punch holes all around the pieces, except on top.
  2. Sew the pieces together.
  3. Turn the top pieces down to form a cuff.  Punch holes so you can sew down the cuffs. Sew Vertical.   
  4. Make sure to place a piece of yarn through around the inside of the cuff before you sew.

  • Supplies Needed: Laundry Scoop, Miniature Garland or Colorful Yarn, Candy Canes: Large and Small (Individually Wrapped), Candy To Fill Sleigh, Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

Reindeer Crafts:

Reindeer Puzzle Pin:
  • Supplies Needed: You need 3 old puzzle pieces.(2 small & 1 medium size),brown paint, 2 gogglie eyes, red and green felt, craft pin, glue gun, one small bell
  1. First paint the puzzle pieces brown and let dry.
  2. Take the small puzzle pieces and glue them to the larger one in the corners only.
  3. Glue on eyes.
  4. Cut out a small red circle for the nose and glue on. (Or use a small red pom pom instead)
  5. In the corner of one of Rudolph's antler make a small holly leaf from red and green felt.
  6. On the reverse of medium size puzzle piece, attach the craft pin.

Reindeer Foot and Hand:
  • Supplies Needed: Light and Dark Brown, Red, Green Felt, Red Pom Pom, Gogglie Eyes, Glue
  1. Trace your child's hand on the dark brown felt and cut out.
  2. Trace your child's foot on the light brown felt and before cutting out add ears on the side of the face and cut out.
  3. Glue the hands on the back of the face, Palm side up.
  4. Cut out the middle of the ears out of red felt and glue on.
  5. Glue on googlie eyes.
  6. Glue the red pom pom on for the nose.
  7. Cut out a green scarfs and glue on the reindeer.
  8. Can cut out a little bit of hair for between the ears like the shape of a cloud and glue on.
Reindeer Hand:
  • Supplies Needed: Brown Paper, Brown Pipe Cleaner, Little Red Pom Pom, Red Yarn, One Gogglie Eye, Hole Puncher
  1. Trace your child's hand on a piece of paper.  Cut out. 
  2. Place the hand downwards, with the thumb on the right.
  3. Glue the red pom pom on the end of the thumb for the nose.
  4. Glue on the eye.
  5. Punch a hole at the top of the thumb.  Put a piece of brown pipe cleaner for the antlers, through this hole and twist. 
  6. Punch a hole in the top of the hand ( by the wrist), to hang the reindeer.
  7. Tie a red yarn just above the antlers, around the thumb for a bow.
Santa Crafts:

Popsicle Santa: 
  • Supplies Needed: Medium Popsicle Sticks, Red, White and Peach Felt Pieces, Medium White Pom Pom, Small Red Pom Pom, Glue, White Paint.
  1. Paint sticks white. Let dry.
  2. Glue two together for beard.  Glue one stick on each side of beard a little bit up for the hair.
  3. Glue a stick across the top for brim of the hat.
  4. Cut a square out of the peach felt for the face.  Glue this on the back of Santa.
  5. Cut out a triangle out of the red felt and glue it on the back of the brim for the hat.
  6. Glue a white pom pom on top of the hat.
  7. Cut out a mustache for Santa and glue on top of the beard.
  8. Glue a red pom pom for the nose.
  9. Draw on some eyes or glue on gogglie eyes.
Paper Plate Santa:
  • Supplies Needed: Paper Plate, Cotton Balls, Red Construction Paper, Stapler, Glue, Hole Puncher, Yarn
  1. Cut out half the center of the plate. Save the rim.
  2. Cut out a red triangle for the hat. Glue it to the top of the trim or staple it on.
  3. Glue a cotton ball at the top of the triangle.
  4. Glue cotton balls along the bottom of the hat.
  5. Glue cotton balls around the plate for the beard.
  6. Cut out a red nose and red cheeks and glue on beard toward the top of opening.
  7. Punch a hole in both sides of the plate.  String yarn through the holes to tie on your child's head.
  8. They now can pretend they are Santa.

  • Pin the nose on Rudolf The Red Nose Reindeer or Put the carrot nose on the snowman
  • Musical Chairs with Christmas Music
  • Name That Christmas Song
  • Play "Pass The Present" Instead Of "Hot Potato".  Wrap a gift up several times.  Each time the music stops the person holding the present gets to unwrap one layer.  The person who opens the last layers gets the gift.  This one is lots of fun.
  • These games were played at local schools and local libraries and parties.
  • Write Santa a Letter
  • Volunteer at your local Salvation Army for Bell Ringing.  You can volunteer whatever time you have, even an hour.  Shows your child the real meaning of Christmas.
  • SnowBall Game: Have the children wear mittens, hold onto a spoon.  They must pick up the cotton balls(SnowBalls) with the spoon and race to fill up a pitcher or bucket.  First team or child to fill up the pitcher or bucket wins.
  • Instead of Simon Says, do Santa Says
  • Memory Game: Find two pictures of everything the lady swallowed and cut it out and glue it to a piece of card stock.

I Recently Purchased A Pack Of Christmas Music CD's From Wal-Mart.  Its called Christmas Songs 4 Kids.  There Are 3 CDs Per Package.  51 Songs in all. There is a picture of a Snowman on the front.  Each CD can be placed in a computer and you able to print out lyrics and activities for each song.  It runs $ 7.
