How Did That Happen?
This story takes place during my high school years.
I was sitting in my British Literature class, waiting for the teacher to start the class. We were learning about Romeo and Juliet, which is my favorite story. Our teacher, Ms. Sappington finally started the class. She was a very sweet teacher.
She started teaching us about Romeo and Juliet. She had a record(yes, a real record, lol) that had the whole story on it and she wanted us to listen to it. She put on the record and left the room. Of course, that was not a good idea. We had a couple of teenage boys that loved to goof around. They started making fun of the story and acting really goofing. One of the boys decided that he wanted to play with the record player. He speed it up and slowed it down. The whole class was laughing so hard. Then he decided he would move the record ahead to the end of the record and story.
Right afterward our teacher came back in the room and the record ended shortly after that. The look on her face was priceless.
She said," Well that is weird that you guys got done early, all my other classes took until class was over with. I just can't explain it."
One of the boys spoke up and said, " I guess we are just better than all your other classes, we are just good listeners."
She said, "I suppose, that is why."
And she let us spend the rest of class talking to each other for the next half hour, because she had no more teach us until tomorrow. She didn't want us to be ahead of her other classes. She sat at her desk puzzled the whole time and she never did figure it out. And the sad thing is, she was the teacher. Gee who is smarter, than who?
