Taste A Rainbow!


St. Patty's Day Platter:
  • Strawberries
  • Oranges
  • Pineapple
  • Grapes
  • Blueberries
  • Marshmallows
  • Bananas
  • Purple skinned pears
  • Round dish
  1. Place the strawberries on the outside
  2. Then, oranges under the strawberries
  3. Pineapples are next under the oranges.
  4. Green grapes are under the pineapples
  5. Next, are the blueberries
  6. Place marshmallows under each side of the rainbow to form clouds.  
  7. Also, place a small bowl of bananas under the rainbow for the gold.
    Taste a Rainbow:
    • White cake mix
    • Muffin baking cups
    • Whip cream
    • Food Coloring (red, blue, green, yellow)
    1. Prepare your favorite white cake mix, then divide the batter evenly among six small bowls.  
    2. For the first bowl, for the color purple: add 9 red and 6 blue drops.
    3. For the second bowl, for the color blue; add 12 drops of blue
    4. Third bowl, for the color green; add 12 drops of green
    5. Fourth bowl, for the color yellow; add 12 drops of yellow
    6. Fifth bowl, for the color orange; add 12 yellow and 4 red drops
    7. Sixth bowl, for the color red; add 18 drops of red
    8. Mix the colors well.
    9. Line 16 muffin pan wells with baking cups.   Evenly distribute the purple batter among the cups, then the blue, and so on, following this order purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, then red.  As you go, gently spread each layer of batter with the back of a spoon to cover the color underneath.
    10. Bake the cupcakes according to your recipe directions.  Before serving, remove the paper wrapping, and if you like, top each cupcake with a whipped-cream cloud.
