Tuesday Tips!

Tuesday Tips!
The Coupon Game:
Turn a trip to the supermarket into a fun search
  • Make it easier on yourself when you go shopping with this great game.
  • Give your child the coupons for the aisle you are in, and then have them find the products by matching the picture.
  • If you don't want your child to have the actual coupons, make photo copies of them, cut them out and then hand those to your child instead.
  • You can have your child have their own coupon holder for their coupons too.
  •  Children love to be just like their parents.
  •  Maybe they can have their coupons in a fanny pack.
  • You can also save those pictures for a later use.
  • Ask them how much the product is, then ask them how much the coupon is for, next, tell them how much the product will be after they use their coupon.  If you want you can bring a small calculator with for your child to use.  The more you involve your child, the better your shopping trip and theirs.  They will also be learning things in the process.
  • At the end of the shopping trip, make sure to tell your child just how much they saved by using their coupons.
  • When putting things away at home, you can use their coupon pictures to ask them to find the product so that they can put it away.
  • Make sure to tell your child that they are such a big girl/boy.  That they are such a help to you and to thank them for their help and being good.
  • Ask them what their favorite part of the trip was and would they like to do that again next time you go shopping.
