St. Patrick's DayWeek:
 Friday!
Crafts:
  • Rainbow Table Topper: 9" paper plate, construction paper(green, blue, yellow), nylon thread, crayons, scissors, glue, clear tape
  1. Fold the paper plate in half and cut the plate around the circle on the back, only half way.  Lay the plate down flat and pull up the arch(rainbow).
  2. Lay the arch back down and color the rainbow.
  3. Cut out a few small blue raindrops and a yellow sun.
  4. Tape the end of a short length of nylon thread to each raindrop.  Then tape the other end of thread to the back of the rainbow to suspend each raindrop.
  5. Glue the sun to the rainbow in upper left corner.
  6. Fold the rainbow forward so that it stands up.
  7. Cut green strips from construction paper for grass.  Glue the grass onto the bottom of the plate; then set it aside to dry.
  • Shamrock Headband: Construction paper (green and other color), glue
  1. Cut a paper strip to fit around your head.
  2. Then cut out a shamrock from green paper and glue it to the front of the headband.
  3. Wear it.
  • Gold Coins: Cardboard, coins, pencil, white paper, foil, green construction paper
  1. Cardboard Coins: Find three or four coins and place them under a thin sheet of paper.  Rub over the paper with a soft pencil, so the patterns of the coins appear on the paper.  Make as many coins as you want.
  2. Then, cut out the coins and glue them to a piece of thin cardboard.  Cut them out again.  If you want, make a rubbing for each side of the coin.
  3. For foil coins: place coins on paper and trace around them.  Cut out the coin shapes and wrap them with foil.
  4. Paper bills: Place a dollar bill on a sheet of green paper and trace around it.  Repeat, making as many bills as you want.  Draw a face and dollar amount on the bills and cut them out.

  1. Cut out green pictures.

  • Where Is The Leprechaun: Coins made in craft section, picture of leprechaun, tape, basket
  1. Tape a leprechaun somewhere in the house.
  2. Take the coins and drop them around the house.
  3. Let your child go around and pick up the coins that will lead to the leprechaun.  Lead them to dead ends and one that leads to the leprechaun.  Have them put the coins in a basket.
  4. When they find the leprechaun, have your child count how many coins the leprechaun dropped.
  5. Now let your child hide the leprechaun and it's your turn to find him.

The rain falls down and makes a path.

A rainbow bridge up in the air!
