Tuesday Tips!

Tuesday Tips!

Meal Planner

  • On a piece of paper, write down everything you know how to make.
  • Put them in the categories like: Chicken, Beef, Pork, Fish, Pasta, Misc.  For example: For chicken I put: Rotisserie, Nuggets, Fried, BBQ, Lemon, Alfredo, Salad, Pot Pie, Krispy, Swedish Soup, Quesadillas
  • Then have categories for sides like: Potatoes, Vegetables, Breads, Salads, Fruits, Misc.  For example: For Potatoes I put: French Fries, Whole/Mashed, Au Gratin, Salad
  • Next, categories for extras: Cookies, Cakes, Brownies, Ice Cream, Drinks, Misc.  For example: For Cookies: Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Sugar, No Cook
  • After you write down everything you can make a chart.  Take a blank piece of white paper, a ruler and pencil and draw up your chart.  Put chart onto your refrigerator.
  • Whenever you make out your grocery list you can grab your meal planner chart and be able to make your grocery list much faster.
  • Put every recipe, you know how to make into a recipe box by the same categories.  That way when you need to know what you need, its right at your fingertips.  You could also type up the recipes and put them in an album, by categories too.
  • If you have everything you can make at your fingertips it makes meal planning so much easier.  Instead of asking yourself, "What can I make for supper?" You can just look at your planner.
  • You also may forget some recipes that you know how to make and with your planner right in front of you, you won't forget them anymore.
  • You can also print out a monthly calendar and write down that month's meals.  Make sure you keep that monthly calendar so that the next month you don't make the same meal to close together. Or so that you don't ask yourself, "When did I make this?" when you look into the fridge.  Free Printable Make Your Calendar Click Here.
