Educational Learning For Toddlers:
Week Twelve




New Words For This Week Are: Off, Time, Cold

Combine these three new words with: Cat, Dog, My, Bat, Log, Sat, On, Mom, Dad, Tree, The, Up, And, Big, Boat, Down, Sun, Love, Fall, Mat, Or, See, Hat, Rat, Moon, Car, Left, Right, Flag, All, Fun, Book

Child's First Book
  1. Make sure to add three new sentences to your Child's First Book.
  2. For the word OffI wrote: I told/I told the dog to/I told the dog to get the bed.
  3. For the word Time, I wrote: What/What time/What time is it? 
  4. For the word Cold, I wrote: It/It is/It is very cold out.
When your child is reading their book to you or anyone else, make sure not to just tell your child the words.  Have them spell it out, to see if they can get the word and/or see if they can pronounce it out.
Index Card Project:
  1. Write the words Off, Time, Cold on index cards.
  2. On the other side glue a picture of that word or have them draw a picture.
  3. You should have a nice pile of words now.
  4. Have your child make a sentence with the words.
 Key-chain Index Cards:
  • Don't forget to add these 3 new words to your key-chain cards.
  • Are you remembering to use these while shopping.
Go Fish Game:
  • Remember to add their words to their Go Fish Game.  
Little Foam Books:
  • After adding the words to your new little foam books, your child will have 11 books to practice in now.
  • Do your kids need new books for their older words?

  • Play this fun game with your child and see how many words they remember.

Number Words:
  1. Write all your kids words they know onto a piece of paper.
  2. Then on another piece of paper, give each letter of alphabet, a different number (1-26), like for the letter d give it the number 2, letter t the number 7 and so forth.
  3. Then on a separate piece of paper write their words in numbers for example for the word Bat it would be 754.  B=7,a=5,4=t.
Fill in the Blanks:
  1. Write a sentence using the words they know.  Just leave out that word.  
  2. Read them the sentence with their word.  Give them a choice of 2 words or see if they know which word goes in the blank.
