  2. Then a little bit below the number 17 put the spelling of the number 17 (Seventeen).
  3. Then directly below the word one put a picture of any Seventeen items like acorns, leaves, or pumpkins (make sure it is seventeen items).
  4. What is really neat to use for all this is foam letters, letters and pictures.
  5. On the Eighteenth  page do what you did with the seventeeth page except use the number 18, the word eighteen and a picture of 18 items like 18 crayons, 18 pens, or 18 markers.

Index Cards:
  • Place the number 17 on a card, word seventeen on a card, a picture of seventeen items
  • Also write the number 18 on card, word eighteen on a card, and a picture of eighteen items.
  • Add these cards with the your other index word cards.
  • Remember to add the numbers and words to your key chain card holder
  • Remember to keep on teaching  your kid's math.  Here's an example: Write on a card 7 + 11 = 18 on the other side have a picture of fifteen items. And the number eighteen written out.  Try not to go above = 18. Keep it real simple.

Math:
  • Remember to do more math with your child

  • Supplies Needed: Foam Sheet, Cardstock, Yarn
  1. Cut a piece of foam sheet in half.
  2. Fold pieces of cardstock in half.
  3. Place a piece of foam sheet on top and bottom of cardstock

Number Tic-Tac-Toe:
  • Supplies Needed: Blank piece of paper, cardboard, marker

  2. On a blank piece of paper draw a nine space tic-tac-toe grid.
  3. One player uses the even numbers 2,4,6,8,10, and the other player uses the odd numbers 1,3,5,7,9.
  4. Both players, in turn, place a number in any space on the grid.
  5. Each number can be used only once.
  6. The first player to complete a row in any direction that totals 15(including, possibly, the opponent's numbers) is the winner.
  7. At first it might be easier if each player writes his numbers on small scraps of paper to use as markers.  Later, when familiar with the game, a player can just write the numbers in the grid as he plays.
  8. Try playing a game of adding up the numbers to 13, 16, or any other numbers up to 20.
